Built around Cold Steel’s world-renowned Tri-Ad Lock architecture, this utility knife offers unmatched locking strength, blade stability, and cutting reliability—making it an essential tool for heavy-duty cutting tasks at the shop, on the job site, or in the field. The CS-40A comes with three interchangeable blades, engineered from 420J2 stainless steel: a drop point blade for general utility, a plain-edged utility blade for precision slicing, and a serrated utility blade ideal for tougher materials like rope or fabric. Each blade is double the thickness of most disposable utility knife blades, providing extended durability and resilience against breakage or warping under pressure. Swapping out blades is fast and secure thanks to the tool’s lockback mechanism. With a simple press of the integrated lock bar on the handle, users can slide a blade out and lock a new one into place with a satisfying and confident “click.” This straightforward yet robust system ensures that your blade remains stable during intense use. The handle is constructed from high-impact ABS polymer, delivering lightweight performance (just 2 oz. overall) without compromising grip or control. Included with the knife is a custom Secure-Ex belt sheath, which houses the knife and has dedicated storage for the two extra blades, keeping your entire cutting system compact and ready for action. Additional replacement blades can be purchased separately.
