The HOGUE Extrak XL model 35854 is a precision-engineered fixed-blade knife crafted to deliver exceptional performance in demanding outdoor, tactical, and field-dressing environments. Built in the U.S.A. with premium materials and thoughtful detail, this knife exemplifies the HOGUE commitment to durability, edge retention, and ergonomic control. The blade measures 3.9 inches in length, set into an overall length of 8.2 inches and weighing an ultra-light 2.3 oz—making it strikingly capable yet remarkably portable. The blade is fashioned from CPM M4 tool-steel, a high-vanadium powdered steel known for its superb wear resistance and sustained sharpness. It has been cryogenically heat-treated to a hardness of 62-64 HRC, and features a flat grind with a hand-honed edge and a matte black Cerakote® finish for enhanced corrosion and abrasion resistance. Ergonomics and carry versatility are equally well-addressed. The full-tang construction is complemented by removable solid G-10 handle scales in black, featuring a peel-ply textured surface for sure grip in wet or adverse conditions. A lanyard hole adds additional carry options and field adaptability. The package also includes a nylon blade guard and an injection-molded sheath equipped with the ULTICLIP® system, enabling secure belt carry, drop-leg or pack-attachment configurations.
