Drawing from Amor’s background in professional jewelry and goldsmithing, as well as his profound understanding of everyday cutting tool requirements, the Subvert stands as a pinnacle of craftsmanship and innovation. With its origins rooted in Amor’s first professional custom design, the Sabotage, the Subvert pays homage to its creator’s visionary talents. Inspired by the Black Sabbath rock anthem of the same name, Amor’s design garnered widespread acclaim within the custom knife community, catching the discerning eye of Spyderco’s management. Impressed by the craftsmanship and distinctiveness of the Sabotage, Spyderco undertook the challenge of adapting it into a production version, thus giving rise to the Subvert.
